The SS-86D is a dual-frequency replacement transmitter compatible with all Ditch Witch SubSite 750 and SubSite 752 locating systems. It operates at either 12 kHz or 29 kHz — switchable by the battery installation direction — giving you the flexibility of two sondes in one body.
Use 12 kHz for better penetration in difficult soils and deeper bores. Switch to 29 kHz for standard SubSite 750/752 operation with maximum accuracy. Both modes deliver a working depth of up to 22 meters and inclination accuracy of ±0.1%.
How to select frequency:
- — Insert batteries from the top → 12 kHz
- — Insert batteries from the bottom → 29 kHz
The selected frequency is set after 5 seconds. Wait 60 seconds after removing batteries before changing frequency — the sonde continues operating for 40–50 seconds after battery removal.
