The SS-86 is a replacement transmitter compatible with all Ditch Witch SubSite 750 and SubSite 752 locating systems. Operating at 29 kHz, it delivers a working depth of up to 22 meters and combines the best characteristics of the entire 86 series into a single sonde.
Inclination accuracy ±0.1% — matching the precision of the 86BG, making the SS-86 ideal for gravity-flow installations such as sewer and storm drain pipelines where exact grade control is critical.
150-hour battery life with twin lithium batteries — the longest runtime in its class, significantly exceeding original SubSite probes:
- — 86B: 100 hours
- — 86BH: 70 hours
- — 86BG: 45 hours
With alkaline batteries installed in the drill head, operating time is 70 hours. Despite the extremely low power consumption, signal strength is fully maintained for reliable locating at maximum depth.
