The EXL grey deep sonde is a replacement transmitter compatible with all DigiTrak Eclipse locating systems. It offers the deepest operating range in the Eclipse lineup — up to 25.9 meters at 12 kHz. The sonde features an extended body (48.26 × 3.175 cm) designed for enlarged drill heads used in deeper HDD applications. It transmits 12 clock positions with an inclination accuracy of ±0.1%, and automatically switches to standby mode after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Our upgraded EXL transmitter delivers 2× longer operating time through significantly reduced power consumption. The original DigiTrak EXL sonde draws up to 150 mA in standalone operation; ours draws only 75–85 mA. Inside the drill head (where losses increase current draw by 70–100%), OEM sondes consume up to 250 mA, while our upgraded version consumes only 120–150 mA — reducing heat buildup and extending run time on a single battery set.
The structural elements responsible for reliable operation in harsh HDD conditions have been reinforced, making this sonde especially suited for heavy or dense soils and percussion drilling rigs.
